How did it get to be April!?!!? Easter went well - the Sheetz and Stauffer/Banse crews came down for the day. The easter eggs were a hit - over 160 eggs for the boys (and Carson) to find. Sy was happy with his hot wheels, bubbles, and chocolate. Good food, good wine, and good company. Can't get any better.
I wonder how many lost eggs will show up this summer. One was recovered today... should we take bets?
Notice Sy's slick hair do on the right. It all started by playing with the hair dryer. He liked it so we spiked the top and that was the hair style of the day for Easter.
Good news - Roy is busy adding a bright red gate- thanks to Tractor Supply - at the end of the drive along with a fence - so the dogs can't run out to the road. It's been taking up a quite a few weekends to accomplish this - still not done. Bad news - the electric gate opener is not included. That is going to stay on my wish list for cold, rainy, I'm running late days.
We took the speed control off Sy's power wheels rescue jeep. He can officially go 5 mph. It's fast! His every waking moment is focused on driving the fire truck. He goes around the drive way in a circle and "burns out" in the gravel. I showed him how to 4-wheel over the walk way in front of the house. It sounded like a good idea at the time...
Lowe's is still doing their projects for kids every other Saturday. In March, we built the Lowe's race car and this past weekend, we built a bird house. On April 24th, it's a hang glider and for Mother's day, it's a planter box. Home Depot is getting in on it. They are building a wheelbarrow in May. The flyer says the kids have to be age 5 or over. I hope that's not really the case because Sy really wants the wheelbarrow. Roy's wheelbarrow handle finally broke, after 12 good years of service, and we need a new one. Sy thinks he can make one for daddy to use. Anyway, these outings on Saturdays are a great thing to do with the kids and can eat up a whole morning before you know it.
If you are in marketing and/or considering marketing for your business, it works. Sy announced he wants Skechers that light up - because they won't slow him down. (That's their tag line.) Have you seen the price for a size 12 toddler? In case you haven't, I looked them up and they are $50 a pair. I didn't find any for a lower price in his size. From my three-year old to you - marketing works.
Below are some photos of the house and land. For those of you who haven't seen it in a while - the siding is off the house. It's been replaced by plywood Roy painted blue. Yes, blue. I think it's keeping our taxes down so I'm not complaining too loud. Roy also planted sagos and oak trees where pond "1" used to be.
