Busy February

It's been a very busy month at the Sheetz house! We went to Lowe's on Valentine's Day and made a jewelry box. I asked Sy if he had fun at Lowe's. He said yes, the forklift was his favorite part (referring to the forklift in the next aisle while we did the jewelry box).

Rodeo was in town and we went to the grounds on Monday, Feb 16 (Happy Birthday, Lash). We had a great time. Sy rode quite a few rides at the carnival - airplanes, spinning bears, and jumping bugs. We visited the Texas building and got a free ice cream cone, what is better than that? Sy made a sand bottle and went into the petting zoo to pet the lambs, sheep, llamas, and goats. He was scared of the horses but enjoyed seeing all the tractors and gators over by the animal sheds. Needless to say he slept very well that night. Next year, he should be ready to go to the actual rodeo.

We also did quite a bit of mowing around the fish room. The grass filled up the compost pile and the rest we put on the burn pile. Still no rain so no burning at this time. This weekend we are hoping to conquer the hedge along the canal and finish up at the fish room with the mower.

The purple martins are back and the cardinals are enjoying the bird seed we put out for them. Looks like spring is on it's way to South Texas - which is good, Sy really wants to go to Splashtown and come down the water slide. That should be an interesting day...
