I'm downloading movies for our upcoming airplane trip. I am surprised iTunes doesn't have more kid movies. It's not a very good selection - unless I'm doing something wrong and not able to see all the movies they have in the kids section. I am downloading Green Lantern, Speed Racer and Up. I think I'll pick Bolt too even though Sy didn't pick that one.
This is very different than the last time we flew.
Last time, I brought books and hot wheels cars. This time I'm bringing the phone with games and movies. I think we will have a few hot wheels cars tucked into a side pocket somewhere. I can't imagine getting out of the house without them.
While Sy and I are headed to visit the other side of the family on the East Coast, Roy will be working on the ceiling tile project in the living room. I get the great job of helping him move everything out of this room Wednesday night so he can get started after dropping us at the airport Thursday morning.
I need to remember to put a reminder on his phone to register Sy Thursday afternoon for Kindergarten. I didn't realize you had to re-register your kid each year. I wish the notice they sent close to the end of the school year had a nice little line at the bottom that said "Your child needs to re-register for each school year." Doesn't seem like that would take a lot more toner and it would have helped me realize they were really talking to me and not just to the parents that had newbies starting in the fall.
We had many of these instances this past year. They send a flyer home asking for a pack of juice boxes. What kind, how many, do you need a specific flavor? They ask for slipper socks for the elderly. Do you have a place you saw these? Are they for the men or the women? Do you mind if I get no skid? There is a lot of room for interpretation. And that stresses me out.
We got the chicken/duck pen finished. It looks good. I hope to get some photos tomorrow. Roy finished it up on Tuesday night. We lost the white polish hen. Seems she got on the other side of the fence and Dippit couldn't resist. Roy yelled at him. So tonight when the Golden Phoenix hen found herself on the wrong side of the fence, Dippit just sat there. I'm sure if he didn't see Roy close by he might have gone for her but he didn't. Thank goodness.
We also took in a Mission's game. The office got a whole bunch of tickets so I got three for us. Then I upgraded them to behind home plate. Needless to say, I should not have done that. Sy wanted to play on the bouncies they had behind the right field line and Roy enjoyed watching the game from the right field line while I was with Sy in the play area. It was fun but next time, no upgrades.
The weather is super hot - over 100 every day and still no rain. I'm looking forward to 60's at night and 80's during the day, even if it is only for a few short days.
Hope y'all had a quiet week too. I'm ready for a restful and relaxing weekend.
