This week started out great. Sunday, we went to Drew's 3rd birthday party at the pool. Sy's swimming lessons are paying off, he jumped and swam for almost 4 hours straight. He had a ball! He loved the pool house and asked if we could live there. When the answer was "No", he asked if he could have his birthday party there. He liked that it had a really big living room that you can run in and have lots of toys in. I pointed out there was no bedroom for him - he said Daddy could make him one.
Jump to Monday morning... Sy and I head for the car, as always, we are short on time. I open the car door and there is the most horrible smell. What in the world. I start looking around as I'm trying to buckle Sy in, I don't see anything that could make this horrible stench. Even Sy added, "Mama what stinks?" I don't know but we are late. I shut his door, walk around to my door and guess what?!?! My window is down. I now realize what happened - the CAT got in there. Back seat behind the driver - in the corner. Disgusting! I'm fuming mad and let my husband know about it. It's 100 degrees and my car stinks! Roy did apologize for leaving the window down, made dinner, and didn't say a word while Sy chased the cat through the house growling. But I was still mad.
By Tuesday night, I managed to figure out how to get the bottom section of the seat out so I took it out and washed it off - thanks to Dawn dish soap and a scrub brush. Roy did help get the work bench ready for me so I could accomplish this task. He was concerned that using the garden hose to soak the seat was going to ruin it. Riddle me this Batman, it reeks of cat wee - isn't it already ruined? I left it sit out all night (up on sawhorses on it's edge so no cats could get on it). Still damp in the morning so when we got to Nana's, I pulled it back out so it could finish drying while I was at work. At the end of the day...dry and NO smell. Delightful.
I still have a little bit of a smell because the d***n cat also got the corner cushion. I can't quite figure out how to get that out in order to give it the same treatment... I need to look that up. A co-worker said the Washtub can also do it. I wonder if the shampooer would work? I really want the smell gone.
Thursday night, Roy volunteered to go to the grocery store while I took care of bedtime. He came home with a wonderful selection of food. That's good because the pickin's were slim. He brought it in and asked me to put it away - sure. I don't mind, you went and got it, the least I can do it put it away...
Friday afternoon, I walk to my car, that sits in a open parking lot (no shade trees for miles) all day long in the 100 degree weather with the sun just beating on - you get the picture? The leftover stench from the cat was there but mixed with a new stench. What in the world? Windows back down, a/c on full blast. What is up with this car?? Phone rings. It's Roy wondering where the meat and fish are that he bought at the store last night. Yep, you guessed it. Still in the trunk. Texted Melissa, she said leave the trunk open - can't do that - don't want the cat to
get in there - oh bother!
I hope we are done with adventures with my car and I hope I can get the rest of the smell out of it.
I'll keep you posted.
With all this time out with the car - I was able to snap a photo of the baby llama. Bless it's heart, it's too cute. The emu came over to check me out - apparently, he's the bodyguard.
And we did get 1 inc
h of rain on
Thursday. Yeah!
