Roy forgot my birthday. Have I mentioned that? We went to dinner with his family the Sunday before but on the actual day, he completely forgot. I mean four phone calls and I brought home cake and he still didn't get it until while we eating the cake he started giving me a hard time about cake in the middle of the week. I told him to stop and think about why I would bring home cake in the middle of the week. He figured it out but it took a minute.
This was on top of not going out for our anniversary. - In his defense, I was sick at that time and not in the mood for a date. And then for his birthday he was sick and man was he crabby. So by the time it got to my birthday and we were both well, I figured he would mark that occasion but he didn't.
So last weekend, I reminded him that Valentine's Day was coming up and since he forgot my birthday that he should get me flowers and if they came early that was okay. So Friday night, he got flowers and chocolate. And he cooked lobster and salmon for dinner on Saturday while Sy was at the Grandma/Grandpa house.
All is good.
Not to worry, I got him chocolates - Sy too. They will get them on Tuesday morning. By then my box should be gone since they are helping me taste test them.
Sy's class is not having a party but they are handing out Valentine's. I had two boxes of cards left over from last year and with both of them, I still came up four short to cover the class. H-E-B didn't have the same ones I bought last year this year so a variety it is. I had Sy write his name on the From line. I tried to have him write his classmates names on the TO line but it was messy and taking FOREVER! We finished up tonight and I taped Sweetarts to the Valentine's that didn't have a lollipop. He will take the rest of the bags of Sweetarts to after school care since they are having a party.
We also sent the G&G, Nana & Tata, Grandpa Rogers, Myrrh, and Nana Pam Valentine's that he drew in. G&G and Nana & Tata are very happy with theirs. I hope the crew up North is happy with them too.
I'm use to think planning and expecting something for Valentine's was over rated. Not anymore. It's nice to take a moment to say thank you, I love you and I'm glad your here. Not just to your family but to your friends too. It's makes it a nicer world to be in.
Happy Valentine's Day to you and yours. I hope it's filled with love and lots of hugs and kisses.
