All Aboard

The last week of January there was a train show in Live Oak.  We went.  Roy was hell bent Sy was getting a train. Really, we know the train was for Roy.  It's an N-guage. Not sure what the means, it means SMALL.  Too small for little fingers to deal with getting the train on the track.  Too small for little fingers that are curious and learning about their world.
But it's in our home and Sy loves it. We went back the next day because we had bought a starter kit with track and a few cars. We needed some more track and a few more cars - and since the locomotive (locomoda - Sy's pronunciation) was broken in about 30 minutes after it was taken out of the box, we needed a new one of those so the set could be used.

We set it up on a table in the foyer.  As you can see, Sy has his conductor's chair to run the controls.

The Bachmann catalog came this past week. 353 pages of wonderful goodies for the train enthusiast. Sy would like one of each and so would daddy.

We have all agreed on a bridge and a working crossing gate. Working, meaning it will ding and the gate comes down when the train passes by.  Cool, eh?

My job has been to get the train back on the track everytime Sy takes it off the track which is about every 5 minutes.  He's learning and loving it and I'm getting good at lining up those little wheels.

I though I had deleted this photo but it was on the camera when I started going through the pictures. I actually think it came out really cool.

I'll post more photos when the locomoda returns from being repaired in Philadelphia and the new bridge and crossing gate are installed.

Wanna come play?
