I would like to thank my friend Liz for asking her mom if she would be interested in helping me out by watching my newborn baby. Her mom said yes - can you believe it!?!?!! I was so excited. The thought of having to take him to a daycare just broke my heart, I was sure I wasn't going to be able to do it. And thanks to Liz and her mom, I didn't need to.
His first day with Esther and Tony was February 14, 2006. He was two months old. The first day was very hard. For Esther and for Sy. But she said to bring him back the next day and I did. It turned out to be all good. It has now been four years and he loves it there Many nights when I pull in, he tells me to get back in the car and go home, he's not leaving.
Nana was the one who could get him to keep down liquids when he had the stomach bug, she could get the fever to go away, she can get him to eat ANYTHING. It's amazing. How does she do that?
He loves his Nana and Tata so much. He tells me everyday. And I love them too. They have blessed our family in so many ways, but most importantly by taking in my son four days a week for the last four years and loving him unconditionally and giving him a wonderful place to stay.
Thank you will never be enough.
And with Nana and Tata came Sy's sister (as he calls her)- Sarah. This is Liz's daughter. She was three when Sy came to stay with her at the Nana house. She is now going to be 7 next month (where did the time go) and is in 1st grade. She has taught Sy some really great things and some not so great things but that's how it works and he has returned the favor many times. Thank you to Sarah for being such a great big sister.
