Wildflowers

The rain was great this winter. It means the spring wildflowers should have a great run.  Our field is full of Indian Paintbrushes.  They are my favorite.  I know everyone likes the bluebonnets, and they are nice, but the Paintbrushes are just so pink and pretty.

I'm glad they are my favorite because bluebonnets will not grow on our property. I think it's the clay soil.  The sandy soil across the highway is full of bluebonnets and not one Paintbrush.  Funny how weeds can be picky about where they grow.

Anyway, Sy and I went out and took some photos of our field in bloom this past weekend.  It was great way to spend time together and enjoy the last hour of sunlight on what turned out to be a glorious Saturday afternoon.

I don't know what the lavender flower is called but it's very delicate and compliments the Paintbrushes.  The field looks so festive.

I played with the settings on the camera to see how close I could get and keep the detail in the flower.  Needless to say, the camera is awesome but without being able to switch lenses, you have limits.  I still think it did a great job....

And my dear boy clowning around with his Mama.  He is a ham!  Happy Spring.
