Counting Down

It's Friday night. Not quite 7 pm and I'm exhausted. I guess I should have gone in and laid down next to my snoring husband, but I haven't/didn't.

We got up at regular time this morning - even though I took off work and Sy did not have school - so we could go meet G&G for breakfast and hand off one darling little boy.

Sy and I packed his bag while daddy got Baby Kitty ready to go to the vet (2nd stop of the day). We packed his clothes, allergy medicine, some cash for a toy at Disney on Ice tomorrow and for good measure, we made sure his manners were in his pocket and I checked his listening button (his knee). Hopefully it will be a good visit. He was up late last night playing Block Party at nick.com. It's a very fun game and since he isn't quite ready to play by himself, I get to participate. Why did they not have games like this when I was a kid?  Well, we did finally get an Atari and I kicked some booty with Space Invaders and Defender.

Baby Kitty made a mess in the carrier next to Sy on the back seat. Poor Baby but man was it stinky. When we got the restaurant, I told Roy I would help him clean it up- but no he didn't want my help. I had packed an extra liner and a plastic bag for the liner that was in the carrier in case this happened. Instead, he tore my trunk apart and dumped items to be "handed down" all over in order to get THAT plastic bag. Dude, next time I say I will help, I am not letting you tell me no. When we got home, I got to pick up the scattered items in the trunk and bring in the messy items from the carrier. And Roy looks at me and says - why is your trunk always a mess? Because you had access. That's why.

After a very yummy Cracker Barrel breakfast, Sy and I went with G&G and Daddy took Baby to the vet. Looks like he may have a thyroid issue, they will call in the morning with the test results.

Roy picked me up at the G&G house. We stopped at Groomer's - smoked trout - and then to Central Market. I got to sit in the car with the cat so the a/c didn't have to be turned off - very green of us for Earth Day, eh?  Anyway, Roy got all those fru-fru things you can't get at any other store in town and we headed home.

Unpacked, settled Baby down, got a drink and right back out the door I went. You will be glad to know that the Easter Bunny was able to find the Easter basket Sy wanted at HEB - the one with the fighter plane - yep, snagged. And for good measure, a chocolate Easter Bunny made it into the cart. HEB was tolerable and I hope I have everything I need for Sunday because I really do not want to go back.

I need to go out and do some mowing before dark. Roy says he's going to make shrimp and grits for dinner - I don't think tonight - it's getting too late to eat.  Well maybe not for him...

I am planning on getting a good night of rest and in the morning, I am going to kick it into high gear. I have no idea where to start, I guess the race track will be the first item to be packed away in the morning and we will move on from there.

One of Roy's clients called and he needs to go there in the morning to take care of few things. That means I will have the house to myself. I get so much done without the boys around. I can't wait to see how much I get knocked out while he's gone. The vacuuming will definitely be done within that window of opportunity.

I hope all your Easter plans are coming together. I know I can't wait to sit under the shade of the oak tree Sunday afternoon and drink a margarita - or two - or three...
