I have mentioned before that Sy is fascinated with anything with wheels and motor. If you can drive it and it can go fast, he is on it.
When I got home from work Wednesday, he met me in the driveway to ask me how my trip was. He wanted to know if I drove really fast. He was disappointed when I told him I drove the speed limit. I know, BORING.
When we did some yard work down by the fish room a few weeks ago, he was finally able to handle the push mower without help. He didn't stay in a straight line but he had a great time knocking down the grass. We needed to go over it twice so the fact that he wasn't straight on the first go round didn't bother me. He was happy and I got a break.
Last weekend, he helped Roy change the blades on the push mower and get the riding mower ready for some serious lawn mowing. In return for his help, Daddy let him drive the mower. It was all he talked about Sunday morning. Daddy was going to let him drive the tractor. At first, I thought he had come up with that and Roy hadn't broken it to him that he really wasn't going to drive. But when I asked Roy, he said he was going to let him drive, he just needed to check it out first.
Roy took about 5 minutes to drive it around and check the mowing height and then he handed it over to Sy. That child was in heaven.
The photos I took didn't turn out very well. I will have to try again the next time he drives - which will probably be tomorrow.
