Zulu - Update

I did a post about the new dog  but I didn't post pictures. And since he's been here three months, it's time for an update.

First the pictures of him chillin' in the yard. I tried to get one of him with the other dogs but no one would cooperate. Take my word for it, he's big.

Very hard to get a good photo of his ridge so awkward over the head shot provides the vantage point.

  • He's got a big bark which sounds loud and vicious, although I'm not sure it is, but in an emergency, maybe??
  • He likes chasing rabbits and deer.
  • He gets into the trash if left alone at home too long and he moves shoes and clothes so he has them next to him when you are not home. I have lost three pairs of shoes to his chewing.
  • He likes to play with the cats but they don't like to play with him.
  • He makes a "Chewbacca" noise when he plays. Frito hides from him because he's so full of energy and he likes to expend it on Frito.
  • He has to love on you when he comes in by rubbing against you and getting you with his cold wet nose if you let him.
  • He likes to play fetch but he's not good a catching treats tossed to him.
  • He, like Frito, thinks he's a lap dog even though he weighs 100 pounds.
  • He's really fast.
So far it's been good and a huge learning experience. All of our other dogs came as puppies not 1 year olds. He was house broken and had some manners but we've had to figure it out along the way. Nothing has been so bad that we thought of having to give him up which I'm happy for. I was a little worried because we didn't know his history. But since it's working out - albeit bumpy - he's a keeper.
