Paper Whites

I was at Lowe's. All. By. Myself. I know hard to imagine, but I was. The reason? To get a gift card for Christmas for Esther and Tony (aka Nana and Tata).  They are putting in a new kitchen and we gifted them an all-purpose Lowe's gift so they could finish that kitchen with everything they wanted - no sacrifices.  Why? They have taken AWESOME care of my child for the last four years.  They deserve a nice kitchen.
Anyway, while I was there, they had a rack in front of the check out with the Paper White and Amarylis bulbs on clearance. I have always been intrigued with these beautiful, delicate flowers but thought actually buying the bulbs and growing them was to fru fru.  I mean Martha Stewart does this.  Not me.  But on clearance, well that makes them all the more desirable. So I bought a planter of the Paper Whites and an Amarylis. The Amarylis hasn't done that well, but the Paper Whites have provided my kitchen windowsill with some knockout flowers that I would like to share with you.
