The Kick-off

This is going to be another rambling post from what I can gather as I write it. I am using the Monster Truck Jam photos because I didn't put them into the post I did about this adventure.

This is the best part. They have the military rappel from the ceiling supports in the dome with the flag attached to them. This is when they got to the bottom and gathered up the flag.

The weather was great this week. I was super busy at work. We met Sy's t-ball coach. First practice is Wednesday. Tomorrow, we are going to get his equipment sans the glove (I think). Roy wants to pick out his glove and he can't go with us.

Today, we went to one of Sy's classmates birthday party. All boys. Very fun. It's good to know that I my child is similar to the other little boys out there on the 4-5 border. We moms compared notes. Very reassuring.

Roy made dinner, I hung the clothes on the line, Sy went over to the fence line to visit with the little girl next door. And we enjoyed this beautiful weather.

I took this photo from our seat because the next time we go, Sy wants to sit way up the top - see it? It's really far up and really gives me vertigo. It won't be happening in my lifetime. I did it once here and I did it once at the "new" AT&T center for rodeo. Never again. I don't care how much the tickets cost, if I can't be close to the floor, I don't need to go.

We got the car washed and harvested the lettuce from the garden. I noticed the banana trees are coming back as new trees. The really tall trunks that Roy just cut all the old growth off of aren't doing anything. I hope they come back or it will be long time until we have bananas again.
I haven't worked out since Tuesday. Wednesday, Roy was working on his books and wanted to hear the news, I obliged. Thursday, he said we were going to finish the taxes. He didn't actually ask for my help until 10 pm. I dilly dallied for over an hour waiting for him to be ready. So I missed my workout and I went to bed without helping with the taxes. Too late for me when I have to get up early and I was bummed I missed my workout. He finished the taxes without me and left a few questions to be answered. He dropped them at the accountant so I'm hoping to hear the final verdict next week sometime.

Last night, I fell asleep with Sy and then we both got a stomach bug in the middle of the night.
Sy got it worse than me and I need to give a huge thank you to my sweetie for taking care of him while I fought off my own potential puking nightmare. Since I puked for 9 months with Sy and for 6 months with "Blue", I feel I have done my fair share of puking and if possible, I will force it not to come up. Sounds gross but puking 60 times a day for days on end gives you some awesome abilities when you only need to puke once or twice in the same 24-hour period.

Anyway, enough of the gross stuff. We are both fine now and life is good.
