ENT Visit

We went to visit the ENT on Good Friday. This was recommended by the Allergist. Since Sy doesn't have allergies, she said it's typically a reflux or adenoids issue. So to the ENT we went.

I have to say this was the first Dr. who ever questioned why he has such a raspy "whooping" cough sound. It's always been like that and the Pediatrician hasn't been concerned by it so neither have I. While looking in his throat she saw that he had tonsillitis. So that's what's been giving us the fever and sore throat this week. I told her we had been to the Ped on Monday because of fever and sore throat complaints. Glad we found the culprit.

They put him on reflux medicine for 30 days to see if that helps the allergy symptoms subside. They will probably scope him on the next visit to see if he has polyps on his vocal cords. This is because of the cough and raspy voice.

I haven't seen a huge improvement in the allergy-like symptoms but it's only been a week today that he's been taking the medicine and he's been on the antibiotic too. Sunday morning we are done with the antibiotic so I'm curious to see what the symptoms do after Sunday.
