I should have figured out Sy was getting sick again on Sunday. We went to H-E-B and he didn't jump on and off the cart, grab at things on the shelf, and beg for toys. He sat in the cart, helped get items when asked, and just plain was awesome. I thanked him for his behavior on the way home and said a prayer he would act this way again - soon.
Monday, he said he felt tired and his head hurt. Tuesday morning he woke up on his own, early, crying. He said his stomach and throat hurt and he was going to throw up and he just couldn't go to school. Roy said he was leaving for work in a about an hour so it didn't give me much time to go to the office for my computer so I took Sy with me. We wound up being there a good 4 hours, longer than I had anticipated, and on the way home, he fell asleep in the car.
By the time we got home, he had a fever and just wanted to lay on the couch and had a temp. Ugh. I called and made an appt for this morning with the pediatrician.
Sy was bummed he was going to miss his field trip today and was trying to convince me that he could walk around the zoo, in the heat with the sun beating on him. Field trip day is but once a year and he really wanted to go. This would not have been the conversation on regular school day.
Anyway, they did a strep culture and it was quickly determined to be positive. We are back on antibiotics and out of school until at least Friday. Hopefully, he will feel well enough to go back on Friday.
