The Peeps, End of Week 2

The squeaky, stinky, mushy veggie eating feathered friends are getting big!  They are still in their cage in the garage but they need to get out SOON. They are messy and they stink. No offense but it's a little much in this heat.

Roy is cleaning their cage every day. He really needs to do it about 5 times a day. The ducks try to swim in the water feeder and it makes this huge mess. Then he puts their mushy veggies in their cage and they go crazy and make a huge mess. Really, we should have gotten pigs.

Check out the poofs. Their will be a competition this Friday night for the best head poof. Mr. Duck says bring it on!

See how big the duck is compared to others? He's like twice their size - if not more. I wonder how big he will be full grown. Are ducks like dogs, you can tell how big they will be by the size of their feet?  I asked Roy why his mouth was open like that, he said it is because it's hot and it's panting to stay cool.  Thank god for hi-speed internet so he could learn that this afternoon.

Bedtime last night - how sweet.

This is the replacement duck. He/she is still pretty small. The golden phoenix's behind him have grown but not as quickly as the others. I wonder if this will be their week to sprout.

One of the golden phoenix's got out yesterday morning. We heard this loud chirping. Sy said he had to go check because they were babies. So out he went and the chick was on the floor. Baby Kitty almost had a snack but Sy chased the cat out of the garage and I caught the chick. We put him back in the cage and added some clips around the outside where we thought he might have escaped.

Roy is working on their new cage. It's being painted on the back porch. I helped for about 2 hours tonight after dinner. I think he's going to stay up and work on it tonight. The goal is to have them moved out by the end of the week.

By the way, the sink is still not fixed.
