Sy got a quad for Christmas compliments of Mr. Claus. Isn't that exciting? He thinks so. He rides it every day, no fail - unless he's sick. Even it's one lap around the yard because that's all he has time for, he rides it.
So far he's done well with wearing his helmet and not getting too crazy. He likes to do stunts. Which means, he picks his feet up as shown here...
Or he puts his feet on the seat or rides side saddle. He's quite proud of his stunts and as long as he isn't trying to figure out how to ride it off the roof, I'm good with it.
He stays away from the ponds and canal. He has been told that going near those and/or not wearing a helmet are grounds for the quad privilege to be lost. And trust me, he does not want that.
Usually, he just zips around the yard with the throttle wide open as shown above. It handles well and therefore he can turn quickly and avoid obstacles (like mamas, dogs, cats, plants) and not tip over.
It's made by Razor, has a rechargeable battery, air tires, and a max speed of 8 mph. It has an on/off switch, runs for about 40 minutes before it needs to be charged, you cannot switch out the battery, but charging it is very easy thanks to a small outlet on the side.
It's turned out to be a great yard toy and I highly recommend it to anyone who has boys with the need for speed.
