Another use for baking soda

I wrote down the recipe for cleaning silver in the comfort of your kitchen one day while surfing the web.  I have carried around the post-it note I jotted it on for MONTHS.  Today, I used it. I am here to tell you that it does actually work.  However, you need to use two/three gallons of water, a huge box of baking soda, a lot of aluminum foil and a lot of salt.  I tell you this because the recipe was vague and it seemed like a few cups of boiling water, a strip of aluminum foil, 1/4 cup of baking soda and a hint of salt was all you needed.

I had to do four pieces from Big Mama's silver tea set.  The creamer, sugar holder and one tea pot look really good but the other tea pot is going to need some work.  Tomorrow, I will pull out the ever reliable silver polish and give it a once over.

May it stay looking nice until after the holidays.
