Our avocado tree didn't make it through this hot, dry summer. We need to see the avocado guy. We were hoping to do just that today while participating in the Devine Fall Festival parade. No such luck. I'm sad that it will be another 5 years before we have avocados growing in our yard - and 5 years is an estimate that is only good if the weather cooperates.
The parade was fun. Good turn out from the Natalia crew. I went to help with Sy, who was a very good little boy and I really wasn't needed. But it was fun and I'm glad I went. This afternoon, we went to the zoo to celebrate Carson's 2nd birthday and we got to ride the train. A good time was had by all.
Tomorrow, we will be at Randolph AFB for the air show. We are taking Jonathon with us. Pray for sunny skies and no rain.
We were at Randolph AFB six years ago on 11/8 for our wedding. Yup, Chapel One and the Officer's Club. It rained that day too. I came down the aisle to Pink Floyd on the bag pipes. It was fantastic. Some days it seems like it just happened and other days it seems a million years ago. I guess that's life and marriage all rolled into one.
I am hoping that we can have a picnic at the River Walk with Sy. I want to take a loaf of bread with us so Sy can feed the fish and ducks. I think that would be a nice way to celebrate. Roy is hoping for sushi night out - that too can be arranged.
I hope you are all enjoying your November thus far, and starting to make plans for Thanksgiving and Christmas shopping. I'm going to ignore all of that until next weekend.
