Going to the chapel

Sy asked me tonight if our anniversary was over. Yes, I said, it's over.  It's only one day and then we move on.  He started to cry. I quickly caught on, oh do you think we went on our picnic without you?  Yes (but with whines) was his reply.  We haven't done that yet, and I promise we won't go without you.  He quickly stopped crying and the following conversation transpired:
"I want to be married," Sy said.
"You do? Who do you want to marry?" I asked.
"Myself"
"You are going to marry yourself?"
"Yeah, I like me."
"Okay.  Where are you getting married?"
"The house with the green and blue."
"Where is that?"
"Well, I I think I will get married at my house."
"Oh.  Who are you going to invite?
"All my friends."
"Are you going to wear a tuxedo?"
"What's that?"
"A very fancy suit."
"No. I'm going to wear Dada's cool Harley shirt.  My friends will love it because it's mean." (Lots of smiles with this.)
There was a pause, and then the conversation turned to Vikings and how mean they are.
See it's amazing how one conversation can lead to another just like that.
And just like that, I am going to segway into adding photos from our day at the airshow - ya know the one we got SOAKED at on our Anniversary?  Prior to getting soaked (thank g-d the camera was in a waterproof bag) I did snap a few photos.
Sy in the Army Jeep pretending to shoot the enemy

Checking out the helicopter, very cool and very slippery when wet

Trying to figure out how to shoot that thing

If you didn't notice from these photos, shooting is big at our house. When Justin and Cody came to stay, Roy let them shoot the pellet gun at eggs positioned in the back yard against the bank of the canal. They had a ball and Sy was right there with them. Roy let him shoot "air" instead of pellets. This is the same pellet gun that Roy uses to remind the deer that they don't want to be in our yard. He has to use this because they come to visit at night and to actually shoot them is considered poaching and that's just not legal. But if you ask Sy, Roy is shooting the deer and killing them because they eat our plants. I wish, Roy wishes, but it's not the case.

Sy also likes swords. He has Roy craft him finely made swords from scrap pieces of wood. He carries them in his jeep and hunts monsters with them. Monsters are afraid of swords. I didn't know this until he informed me, but hey whatever it takes to keep them out of his room is good with me.
