The kitchen sink is on its last leg. The edges are starting to pull apart where the finish has worn off. It's ugly and hard to clean. So, Roy pulled out the Kohler Executive Chef sink one of his clients parted with a few years back. It's dark green. Goes with our countertop and was FREE (best price ever, just get it out of their garage). We are looking for a faucet worthy of the sink. Our current one will not do.
As with every step of this home building project, I am in awe of what you can actually purchase for your home. Did you know that there is a $2,500 faucet on e-bay right now? Who in the world would want/need a $2,500 faucet. I was glad to see that it had free shipping. Yiikes.
I am down to two options. Price Pfister Cadenza in Stainless Steel or the Marielle in antique copper. They are both beautiful and would look nice with the green sink. Did I mention the sink has four holes - that's why it's betwen these two options.
See why this is a hard choice? I have to live with it for at least 5 years - maybe 10. I don't want to make a mistake.
The funny part about this is, now that we need a sink and I need to pick out a faucet, I am thinking of all the other things that need to get done... Roy hasn't officially finished the foyer yet and here we are, moving forward on the next project.
So for the curious, here is the list. It keeps growing and is in no particular order.
What we want/need for the house:
1. Faucet
2. New countertop
3. Sink base
4. Maybe another cupboard next to the sink base??
5. Walls in the kitchen
6. New wood floors (with under the floor heating) in the front of the house
7. Tankless water heater
8. Water softner
9. Couch and loveseat (Roy wants leather - yuck - but I can't live much longer with what we have)
10. Matalesse for our bed with shams and curtains (all coordinating)
11. Larger mirror in the bathroom
12. Skirting around the bottom of the house (pier and beam house)
13. Patch up the garage outside walls and paint them
14. Siding for the whole house
15. Pallets of stone (5/6) to build planters and plant some roses and palms
16. A finished playscape for Sy (with storage for the fire truck)
17. A plan for expansion - heard from a friend to try sketchup.com - it's on my list
Okay, that's the list. But for right now, I have to figure out the faucet. Copper is awesome. I am worried about how it will hold up with our hard water. Those calcium and lime stains won't show as easily on the stainless steel. Ugh, the pressure. This is why people buy a house that is already done... oh wait, they move in and do the same thing. I can hear the sweet tone of a women's voice, "honey, don't you think it would be great if we just painted this wall right here?"
