I'm back. I left rather abruptly in May due to the air card's hard drive going corrupt. AT&T said my options were to buy a new one at full price or get one for free with a 2-year contract. Since I had 15 months on the old contract, we figured that was not the way to go. But we also did not want to pay full price for another air card and then pay for the monthly service. As any good wife would do, I asked my husband if he would please call them. And for those of you who know my husband this is an area he excels in. He got us labeled as premier customers and they offered two options. The first new air card with a rebate for the cost but we had to sign for another 2 years or we could get out of this contract for free. We took the get out of the contract option.
We did this because they were installing cables throughout the area and we knew that DSL was coming. We were told early August so we figured we could live from late May to early August sans internet. Needless to say, the lines were not ready until September. We survived and now have a faster connection with a smaller monthly charge. I really like that.
I had to get the holidays out of the way and reset my password before I could focus in this direction but now that both of these have been accomplished, here I am.
