The Saute Pan

Roy made Shrimp Paesano for Christmas dinner. He said he wished he had a pan that had a nice flat bottom with straight up sides so he could do more shrimp at a time.We have a few pans but none that fit that description, so when we went to BB&B to look at toaster ovens, we also looked at pans.

We didn't buy one that day but instead decided to research it. We decided we liked the Calphalon saute pan and since we own a few of their other pans, we knew we were getting a quality product we would be happy with. I found one in mid-January at Marshall's and brought it home. Roy was so happy. We used that pan every day until early June...

Roy cooked dinner and I did the dishes but I left the pans for the next morning. When I went to pick up the saute pan the handle fell off. Seriously??? I washed everything up and then sat down to see what the warranty was on the pan.

Good news. It is under warranty for 10 years. Phew. So I wrote a letter explaining that we have other Calphalon pans and have been very happy with them. We took care of the product as they recommend and the handle just fell off - at 5 months old. We wrapped it up in bubble wrap and mailed it.

They called a week ago asking for a physical address to mail the pan to. I had provided our PO Box. They e-mailed a tracking number so we could watch it move from IL to G&G. We sent it to G&G because UPS can never find our house - even though Google gets it right AND we have huge numbers on the mailbox so you can't miss us...

They sent a brand new one with another lid. I didn't mail the lid because I figured they would just send the pan. At least we will have an extra if it's ever needed...now where do I store it?

I am very happy with the service provided and I will turn the Calphalon again.
